As a Maine wedding videographer, I've had the privilege of capturing countless love stories across New England. French's Point
When I first arrived at French's Point, I knew I was somewhere special. This oceanfront estate has been hosting celebrations for over 100 years, and it's easy to see why. Under the careful stewardship of owner Jessika Brooks-Brewer and her family, French's Point has evolved into an exclusive weekend destination that hosts only thirty select couples each year.
What makes this venue truly exceptional from a filmmaker's perspective is the variety of settings it offers. With eight outdoor locations and three indoor spaces, I'm always discovering new angles and natural frames for capturing those perfect moments. The Bluff's Edge Gazebo Promenade, which can accommodate up to 200 guests, provides a particularly dramatic backdrop for ceremony footage, with the ocean stretching endlessly behind the couple.
The venue's exclusivity policy – hosting only one event per weekend – allows me to capture intimate moments without rushing or competing with other events. Plus, with on-site lodging for 45-60 guests, I get to document those precious in-between moments that make wedding films so special.
Live Well Farm
Live Well Farm holds a special place in my heart for its versatility and charm. As someone who often films multi-day celebrations, I appreciate their weekend package option, which gives couples complete access to the entire property. This flexibility allows me to capture everything from intimate getting-ready moments in the farmhouse to grand reception scenes in their beautiful barn.
One of my favorite features of Live Well Farm is its ability to accommodate both intimate and larger celebrations. The barn can host up to 80 guests for a seated dinner, while tented events can welcome up to 200 people. From a cinematographer's perspective, the property's natural light is incredible – whether we're filming inside the historic barn or outside in their well-maintained grounds.
Cliff House
Perched 90 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, Cliff House is a cinematographer's dream. The venue's location, just 60 miles north of Boston, makes it accessible while still feeling like a true destination wedding location. What I love most about filming here is the way the natural light plays across the various spaces throughout the day.
The Atlantic Ballroom, with its 4,400 square feet of space and dramatic window wall, provides stunning opportunities for reception footage. But it's the North Point Lawn that truly steals the show. When I'm filming ceremonies here, the sweeping coastal views create an absolutely magical backdrop that requires very little enhancement in post-production.

The Nonantum Resort
Filming at The Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport always feels like stepping into a perfect postcard of coastal Maine. What sets this venue apart is its seamless blend of waterfront charm and refined elegance. The marina views, lighthouse, and expansive lawn provide numerous opportunities for capturing romantic moments.
As a videographer, I particularly appreciate the resort's versatility. Whether I'm filming an outdoor ceremony with boats gliding by in the background or an elegant indoor reception, the lighting and backgrounds are always cinematically beautiful. The fact that the venue offers 109 on-site guest rooms also means I can capture more of the wedding weekend story, from rehearsal dinner to farewell brunch.
The Maine Barns
The Maine Barns, consisting of Walnut Hill and Flanagan Farm, offer two unique interpretations of barn wedding venues. As someone who frequently films barn weddings, I can attest that these properties stand out for their thoughtful renovations and attention to detail.
Walnut Hill, with its custom-designed gardens and intimate setting, is perfect for couples seeking a more contained celebration. The climate-controlled barn and manicured grounds provide beautiful backdrops in any season. Meanwhile, Flanagan Farm's 66-acre property offers more expansive possibilities, with two magnificent barns and a wild, natural beauty that looks stunning on film.
What I particularly appreciate about both properties is their consideration for vendors like myself. The climate-controlled spaces, good lighting, and well-thought-out layouts make it easier for me to capture every special moment without technical difficulties.
